PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Bharadisain The monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha started on a tumultuous note at Bharadisain in the summer capital Gairsain in Chamoli district on Tuesday. The Congress MLAs demanded work adjournment under section 310 as soon as the proceedings of the day started. The Chakrata MLA Pritam Singh said that the law and order situation in the State is in shambles and a detailed discussion under rule 310 should be held in Vidhan Sabha. The leader of opposition Yashpal Arya said that the Nainital incident has shamed Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Speaker Ritu Khanduri asked the Congress members to let the question hour begin but they marched to the well of the house raising slogans against the government. The lone Bahujan Samaj Party member Mohammad Shahzad and independent MLA Umesh Kumar also joined the protest of the Congress MLAs.   Amid pandemonium, the speaker adjourned the house till 11.30 AM and later extended it three times till 12.20 PM as the opposition members continued their vociferous protest in the well of the house. The din created by the protest of the opposition members ensured that no questions were taken up for discussion during the question hour. The protest of the Congress members continued and even became intensive when the proceedings resumed at 12.20 PM. The Parliamentary Affairs minister Subodh Uniyal requested the speaker to suspend the unruly members of the Congress party till the end of the day. However, the speaker ignored the advice and continued with the other business of the house. The opposition members suspended their protest and returned to the seats when the speaker took up the condolence motion on the death of former Tharali MLA Munni Devi Shah. Speaking on the motion, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid rich tributes to Shah. He said that Shah always exhibited promptness for serving the people. Remembering her, the CM said that despite bad health she went to the disaster affected Dungri village in Narayanbagad on foot which reflected her deep sense of attachment to the people. The CM said that her death has created a void in politics. The LoP Yashpal Arya said that Shah was an epitome of simplicity, hard work and selfless service to society. He said that she also worked for women empowerment and was elected an MLA in the year 2018 after the untimely demise of her husband Maganlal Shah. Cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj, Dhan Singh Rawat, Rekha Arya, Saurabh Bahuguna, Subodh Uniyal, Vikasnagar MLA Munna Singh and Badrinath MLA Lakhpat Butola also gave tributes to Shah.
