my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the direct selling women entrepreneurship summit -2025 at Indira Gandhi stadium in New Delhi on Saturday. The programme was organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Greeting women on the occasion, the CM said that the women of the country are working shoulder to shoulder with men in every sector. They are working appreciably in the Army, politics, sports, science, agriculture, education and industrial sectors.  The CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi efforts for women empowerment are being done at every level. He said that in the last 11 years Jan Dhan bank accounts of more than 30 crore women were opened in the last 11 years. Under the Lakhpati Didi yojana, the government has taken a commitment to make one crore Lakhpati Didis in the country. Under the Mudra scheme, loans have been provided to more than 30 crore women in the country. Dhami said that the parliament has passed the bill granting 33 per cent reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabhas.  He said that the Uttarakhand government is also working for women empowerment. Dhami said that 30 per cent reservation in government jobs has been given to the women of the State and efforts are being made to give adequate representation to women in every department. The Uttarakhand government is providing interest free loan up to Rs five lakh to the women self-help groups and there are now more than one lakhpati Didis in the State. The State government has set a target to make 1.5 lakhpati Didis in the State till end of this year. Dhami added that the State government is empowering women with the help of Sashakt Bahana Ustav Yojana, CM women self-help group empowerment scheme and other projects.  BJP MP Pravin Khandelwal, deputy chairperson of state disaster management advisory committee Vinay Rohilla and others were present on the occasion.
