
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is working tirelessly to improve the quality of education. He averred that Uttarakhand is the first State in the country to implement the National Education Policy- 2020. He was addressing a programme organised to mark 12th anniversary of Rishikesh International School on Thursday. Congratulating the school and the students, the CM said, “Children are the leaders of our future. Tomorrow, they will go to various fields and bring glory to their parents, teachers, State and the country.” He said that the teachers should ensure that along with providing education to children, they should inculcate discipline, values and a spirit of service in them. Dhami said education should not only be limited for employment generation but should also aim for character building, nation building and human upliftment. Terming Indian culture as the mother of all cultures, the CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving forward on the path of development. He said that the children are understanding the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) as well as yoga, culture and simplicity. The CM said that the State government has entered into agreements with various industrial units and institutions due to which new employment opportunities are being created. The government is also promoting the establishment of start-ups and has set up training institutes. Dhami said that women self-help groups are now playing a vital role in strengthening the State’s economy. He said that with the help of the House of the Himalayas brand, an initiative of the State government, small groups are gaining access to markets. The CM said that the State government has enacted a stringent anti-copying law and has provided government jobs to more than 26,000 youngsters. He claimed that new innovations are being done in every sector and the State is moving on the path of development at a fast pace. Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal, District BJP president BJP Udai Singh Rawat and others attended the programme.
