2nd Edition of Mussoorie Ultra Marathon: Tourism Secretary launches Event T-Shirt

Mussoorie, 24 Sep: Preparations for the second edition of the Ultra Marathon in Mussoorie have gained momentum. The Tourism Department is also enthusiastic about the event. Dhiraj Garbyal, Tourism Secretary, launched the official T-shirt for the Ultra Marathon; Abhishek Rohilla, ACEO of the Tourism Department, was also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the launch, Sandeep Sahni—President of the Uttarakhand Hotel and Restaurant Association and a key figure in the event’s organization—noted that the objective of the Ultra Marathon extends beyond the race itself; the aim is to develop Mussoorie into a major hub for adventure and sports tourism. He added that the arrival of participants from various parts of the country would boost tourism activities in the region. According to the organizers, the second edition will be held on a much larger scale than the first. Races will be conducted across various categories to accommodate participants of different age groups and fitness levels. The event seeks to engage local youth in sports activities while showcasing Mussoorie’s natural beauty to the nation and the world.
While launching the event T-shirt, Tourism Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal emphasized the need to link such events with new dimensions of tourism. He remarked that Uttarakhand’s natural terrain is ideal for adventure and sports tourism, and events like this provide tourists with a fresh reason to visit the mountains. Organizer Sandeep Sahni mentioned that the race, set against the backdrop of Mussoorie’s hilly roads and natural environment, would offer participants a unique experience combining sport with the beauty of the landscape. He stated that efforts are being made to increase the participation of locals, hoteliers, and those associated with the tourism sector in the event, so that the tourism industry can reap the benefits on a broad scale. Sanjay Agrawal, Ajay Mark, and other individuals associated with the event were present at the T-shirt launch ceremony.
