
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the State government has been promoting a robust startup culture under the new startup policy while addressing a programme here on Monday commemorating the National Youth Day. During the event, he presented awards to Mahila Mangal Dals and Yuvak Mangal Dals for their outstanding contributions in various fields. The Mangal Dals which secured first, second and third prizes received cash awards. The winners of the speech competition and NSS award-winning youth were also felicitated on the occasion. NSS presented a cheque for Rs 2,24, 320 to the CM for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Speaking of the contribution of the visionary sage Swami Vivekananda, he said that he had revived the spirit of cultural nationalism in a nation shackled by colonialism. “His famous address in Chicago not only introduced India’s spiritual strength to the Western world but also conveyed to the entire globe that the welfare of humanity hinges on the knowledge, wisdom and values of Sanatan culture,” he said. He emphasised that no nation could achieve economic, social, political and cultural development without organised, self-reliant youth inspired by nationalism. “Youth power is our nation’s greatest asset, capable of realising the dream of a strong, prosperous and self-reliant India through their hard work, talent and determination,” Dhami stated. He further said that various initiatives, such as Startup India, Skill India, Digital India, Make in India, Fit India and National Education Policy are providing the youth with opportunities galore that align with their talents and capabilities. “The State government is fully committed to empowering youth and making them self-reliant. Schemes like the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, Chief Minister’s Youth Promotion Scheme, Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Rural Skill Development Scheme offer training, technical support and financial assistance,” he said. He said that Uttarakhand has always been a land of rich culture, philosophy and spirituality. “Vivekananda undertook penance in several sacred areas of Uttarakhand where he attained enlightenment. The State government has decided to identify all these locations and establish a Swami Vivekananda Corridor in the State,” he added. Sports and Youth Welfare minister Rekha Arya added that Swami Vivekananda was a multifaceted personality who personified the eternal values enshrined in Indian culture on the global stage. “The State is taking significant strides under the CM’s leadership towards realising the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047,” she added.
