New Delhi, 16 Sep: Garhwal Lok Sabha MP and BJP’s national media chief Anil Baluni today called on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and discussed several important issues concerning Uttarakhand. During the courtesy call, he urged the Delhi CM to initiate steps for starting modern luxury DTC bus services to Ramnagar, Rishikesh and Kotdwar from Delhi to facilitate the large number of Uttarakhand residents living in Delhi and to improve connectivity between the capital and the hill state.
Baluni also requested support for strengthening the Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari academies operating in Delhi, so that Uttarakhand’s folk languages, art and cultural heritage can be preserved and promoted more effectively. He further sought measures for the renovation and modernisation of Garhwal Bhawan in Delhi, so that it can serve as a more useful and convenient centre for the state’s diaspora.
Expressing gratitude to Gupta, Baluni later said that the positive and considerate response shown by CM Rekha Gupta towards issues related to Uttarakhand’s rich language, culture and the interests of its migrant community is deeply appreciated.
