The weather in Uttarakhand is set to take a turn once again in the coming days. According to the forecast, light to moderate rainfall is expected across various plain and mountainous districts of the state between October 14 and 16, while snowfall is likely in high-altitude areas. This shift in weather is expected to bring colder conditions and a drop in temperatures, particularly in the mountainous regions. Meteorological Director Dr. C.S. Tomar stated that light to moderate rain could occur in parts of the Garhwal division on October 15 and the Kumaon division on October 16. He noted that scattered light to moderate rainfall is likely in plain districts—including Dehradun, Nainital, and Haridwar—on October 14 and 15. Additionally, rainfall may be observed in the Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts on October 16. The impact of this weather change will be felt across both the plains and the mountains of the state; temperatures are expected to drop, leading to increased cold, especially in the hilly areas. According to Dr. Tomar, snowfall is likely on October 14 in areas situated above 3,800 meters, while regions above 3,500 meters may experience snowfall on October 15 and 16. Consequently, high-altitude mountainous areas are likely to witness a change in weather conditions accompanied by a rise in cold.
