PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Strongly objecting to the comments made by the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday that Doval has made significant contributions in safeguarding the country’s security and strategic interests. All leaders should be mindful of their language and the seriousness of the facts when making political comments on sensitive issues like national security. He said that the leaders of Uttarakhand Congress should clarify their stand on the repeated targeting of NSA Doval by Gandhi. “Differences between political parties are part of democracy but discussions on issues related to national security should be factual and responsible. Uttarakhand has given the country many sons who have made significant contributions to national service and national security. We are proud of their achievements. Uttarakhand will not compromise on the honour of its sons,’’ he said. The CM added that the Congress and its INDI alliance partners are facing a crisis of lack of issues due to which they are trying to create anarchy in the country. He said that the Congress and other opposition parties are facing a series of electoral losses in the country and the people of the country are consistently supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Questioning Rahul Gandhi on repeatedly targeting the chief election commissioner, the CM said that incumbent CEC has been in the position from last two years only but the Congress is on a losing wicket in the elections from 2014. He said that Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls is a routine activity undertaken by the Election Commission of India. The CM said that the names of the dead, absent and duplicate voters should be removed from the voter list and that is exactly what is being done under the SIR. “ The SIR was done during the regime of the Congress party in the past, if that was right then how could it be wrong now,’’ he questioned.
