Bharat Chaudhary reviews district development works, directs timely implementation

Uttarkashi, 15 May: Rural Development and MSME Minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary chaired a review meeting with district-level officers at the Vikas Bhawan auditorium here today to assess the progress of welfare schemes and development projects. The meeting examined initiatives under rural development, self-employment, micro and small industries, khadi and village industries, MGNREGA, livelihood promotion, rural infrastructure, drinking water, health, education, agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry. During the meeting, Chaudhary directed the officials to ensure transparent, accountable and quality implementation of all schemes within the stipulated timeframe.
The minister emphasised that the government’s priority is to deliver the benefits of its schemes directly to villages, the poor, farmers, women and youth, and stressed that even the remotest areas must be covered so that the last person in society benefits from governance. Special instructions were issued to empower the women by linking them with self-employment opportunities through self-help groups and NRLM. He urged officials to encourage women to emerge as a strong workforce, enabling them to achieve economic independence and contribute actively to family and societal progress.
Chaudhary also highlighted the importance of strengthening the rural economy by generating employment for youth and women through local resources. He called for coordinated efforts among departments such as micro, small and khadi village industries to achieve this goal. Reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), he directed the officials to make rural roads pothole-free and directed that satisfactory progress be achieved within fifteen days on the Sangamchatti–Agoda road project. Officials presented departmental progress reports and shared future targets during the meeting.
Among those present at the meeting were District Magistrate Prashant Arya, Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan, BJP district president Nagendra Singh Chauhan, former BJP district president Satendra Chauhan, Block Pramukh Bhattwadi Mamta Panwar, Dunda Rajdeep Parmar, Purola Nishita Shah, former Bhattwadi Pramukh Vinita Rawat, Chief Development Officer Jai Bharat Singh, Additional District Magistrate Mukta Mishra, Project Director Rural Development Ajay Singh and other district-level officers.
