As per the eyewitnesses, the convoy of Nabin had more than 30 vehicles. Nabin arrived at the Dehradun Airport in the afternoon from where his convoy passed through many areas of the city to the State party office of the BJP. Many people stopped by the police to let the carcade pass questioned the rationale behind such a large convoy. “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people to adopt austerity measures to save fuel and has drastically cut his convoy. But it seems that the leaders of his own party are not following the advice of the PM,’’ said one elderly.
