PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government will provide free ration to the disaster affected families of Dharali in Uttarkashi district for next six months. He said that every possible help is being provided to the affected families by the State government. The CM said that an immediate assistance of Rs five lakh will be provided for the rehabilitation of those whose houses have been completely damaged or destroyed by the disaster. He said that a three-member committee headed by secretary, Revenue has been constituted for the rehabilitation of the villagers. The committee will assess the rehabilitation, displacement and loss of the affected people. He said that the damage caused to the apple orchards due to the disaster will also be assessed.  The CM said that the priority of the State government after the disaster struck Dharali was to take people to safe places.  “ Despite bad weather, more than 1,000 people have been rescued safely so far. This includes local people as well as pilgrims from all over the country. The injured have been admitted to the District Hospital and All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Arrangements have been made to ensure that everyone gets good treatment,’’ he said.  The CM added that an adequate amount of medicines, milk, ration, clothes have been delivered to Harsil and Dharali. He said that UREDA’s power house has been started for power supply in the Harsil area.  The CM said that the power cables are being repaired by UPCL, the mobile connectivity has been improved and two 125 KV generator sets have also reached the disaster area.  Dhami said that efforts are being made to restore road connectivity in the Harsil area and a bailey bridge is being constructed in Gangaani. The roads affected by landslides will also be repaired soon. He said that there is a possibility of repairing the damaged road to Harsil by Tuesday.  The CM said that along with Dharali, the disaster has also caused devastation in other places of the State. He said that people whose houses have been damaged in  Saainji and Bankuda villages of Pauri will also be given assistance of up to Rs five lakh from the State government. The CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured all possible help to the State government.
