PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun  Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the ambitious model Sanskrit villages scheme on July 10 at Sanskrit village Bhogpur in Dehradun.  The Sanskrit Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is committed to the conservation and promotion of the second State language Sanskrit in Uttarakhand.  He said that the State government has started a project of making one model Sanskrit village in every district and these villages have been selected. The objective of the scheme is to make Sanskrit a language of people and restore its past glory. He informed that in the inauguration ceremony presided over by CM in Dehradun will be attended by the model Sanskrit villages of all the districts.  The minister said that the villagers of these villages will learn Sanskrit and will use it in their daily routine. Apart from it the recitation of hymns of Vedas, Puranas and Upanishads will be done in these villages. He said that the objective of establishing Sanskrit villages is to create a civilised society, conserve culture, character building, prevent criminal practices in society, women empowerment and create a society free from drug addiction. The scheme will be operated under joint aegis of the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy and Central Sanskrit University New Delhi.  The model Sanskrit villages are Noorpur Panjanhedi in Haridwar, Kotgain ( Uttarkashi), Dimmer ( Chamoli), Bainji ( Rudraprayag), Mukhem ( Tehri), Bhogpur ( Dehradun), Goda (Pauri), Urg ( Pithoragarh), Khark-karki ( Champawat), Seri (Bageshwar), Jainti Pandeykota ( Almora), Pandey Gaon (Nainital) and Nagla Terai (Udham Singh Nagar).
