PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government has constituted Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) which is working to increase investment, accelerate economic activity and create new employment opportunities in the State. Responding to a question on the allegations levelled by the Congress party on the UIIDB, the CM said that those involved in sale of land and corruption are questioning the creation of UIIDB and accusing the government. He said that the UIIDB was created on the lines of similar boards in Gujarat, Punjab and other states. The CM said that following the Investment Summit, regulations were created to attract investment in the State, however, the Congress party is not happy with the investment coming into Uttarakhand and the employment opportunities being created for the youth. Dhami said that the State government has freed approximately 13,000 acres of encroached government land in the State which is causing heartburns to the Congress party. He also questioned the silence of the Congress party on the issue of encroachment in Vanbhulpura. The CM firmly said, “our government will continue to work with full determination to protect every inch of Uttarakhand’s land and the cultural identity of the State.” Launching a scathing attack on the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, the CM said that the party has become issueless due to which Rahul Gandhi is attempting to spread lies and confusion through programmes like “Chattrron Ki Goonj.” Terming the programme as an echo of falsehood, the CM added that many of Gandhi’s claims have been proven false by fact-checks. Dhami also accused the Congress party for trying to divide society and spread confusion on the Haldwani ‘purification’ incident. “The reality is that the purification ceremony and Havan were performed in protest against Jihadi slogans and had nothing to do with the caste of any leader. Moreover, those who organized the event were themselves from the SC community,’’ he said. The CM added that the Congress party tried to create a fabricated and false narrative on ‘purification’ but it has got exposed before the people of the State.
