PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the district magistrates to expedite the campaign to remove encroachments from the government lands in the State. He said that the violators of the Bhoo- Kanoon in the State should be identified. The CM gave the order during a virtual meeting held with the DMs from his residence in Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar on Monday. He said that in the cases of violations of the Bhoo Kanoon, the land concerned should be immediately vested in the State government. The CM also directed to remove encroachments on enemy properties located in the State. The CM said that the details of Waqf properties registered on the Umeed portal should be regularly reviewed and their details should also be regularly checked. Dhami said that the arms licenses of people coming from other states should also be checked and those with criminal backgrounds should be identified. On a stern note, the CM said that Jansewa centres should be investigated and the people taking benefit of government facilities by making illegal ration cards should be identified. He said that the authorities should step up surveillance of people with suspicious activities and expedite the verification drive. In view of the upcoming monsoon, the CM directed all districts to complete pre-monsoon preparations in a timely manner. He said that a review meeting of pre-monsoon preparations should be held in each district to ensure all necessary arrangements. He said that the repair work of damaged roads in the interior areas be completed in a timely manner and that the drinking water supply system be maintained smoothly in view of the summer season. Dhami said that the issues related to drinking water supply should be resolved on priority. In the meeting, the CM directed the officials that there should not be any unnecessary power cuts in the State under any circumstances. He said that prior information regarding power cuts should be conveyed to people in cases they are necessary due to any reason. Dhami also directed the officers to regularly monitor the Char Dham Yatra. He said that continuous feedback should be taken from the pilgrims on the Yatra routes and arrangements should be improved based on their suggestions and complaints. He said that adequate availability of drinking water on the Char Dham Yatra route should be maintained and an effective traffic plan for the Yatra should be prepared. The CM said that the construction work of Kainchi Dham bypass under the Manaskhand Yatra should be completed by next month. In the meeting the CM said that the schemes of the Agriculture and Horticulture department, such as Poly House, Apple Mission and Kiwi Mission should be effectively implemented to ensure that their benefits reach the farmers. He said that there is a need to adopt a result-oriented work culture in the field of agriculture and horticulture, so that the goal of increasing farmers’ income and strengthening the rural economy can be achieved.
