Strict action to be taken against those responsible for making invalid documents PIONEER NEW SERVICE/Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed senior officials to ensure that the campaign against corruption is carried out without a break. The toll-free number 1064 should be publicised widely to enable the citizens to share their grievances regarding corruption. The chief minister also directed the officials to submit a detailed report on action taken in cases related to religious conversion. The verification campaign underway should be continued in all the districts of the State and action should be taken immediately on receipt of information about a suspicious character or activity anywhere in the State, he said. Dhami has issued stern instructions to the officials to ensure that proper verification is done while making Aadhaar and other government documents. Strict action should be taken against those responsible for making invalid documents, he said. The CM further said that the action being taken against encroachment should be continued and that the authorities concerned should ensure that the land freed from encroachment is not encroached upon again. The chief minister has also directed the officials to accord priority to local labourers in the construction of government buildings. Additionally,  the State’s cultural identity and traditional architectural style of the State should be incorporated in the construction of such buildings. Dhami further said that security should be stepped up further in the border areas with focus on a proper checking campaign. Principal secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, additional director generals of police V Murugesan, AP Anshuman, secretary Vinod Kumar Suman and MDDA vice chairman and Information director general Banshidhar Tiwari were also present in the meeting. It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities have stepped up their verification and checking campaigns across the State since the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan. At least 10 Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Dehradun alone this month.
