PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Devbhoomi Parivar Portal in a programme organised at his residence on Monday. He also released the ‘Viksit Uttarakhand Vision-2047’ on the occasion. In his address, the CM said that both these initiatives will play an important role in strengthening good governance in the State, providing the benefits of government schemes to eligible people and giving clear direction to the long-term development of Uttarakhand. “Often, due to a lack of information, eligible individuals are unable to take advantage of government schemes. Meanwhile, citizens are forced to repeatedly submit documents and visit various departments for the same information. The Devbhoomi Parivar Portal is an effort to alleviate these problems and make government services simple, transparent and citizen-centric,’’ he said. He said that the Viksit Uttarakhand Vision-2047 is an action plan for the overall development of the State. For its success, all departments and districts will have to prepare action plans tailored to local needs and work in a timely manner, he said. The CM stated that the State’s GSDP has increased by 7.23 per cent in the past one year. A 41 per cent increase in per capita income (PCI) and a 44 per cent increase in reverse migration reflect the positive changes taking place in the State, he said. The CM added that special attention is also being paid to expanding infrastructure in border areas and increasing local employment and livelihood opportunities. He averred that the development model for Uttarakhand should be based on ‘progress with nature’ motto. The principal secretary Planning, R Meenakshi Sundaram, stated that the primary objective of the Devbhoomi Parivar Portal is to create a unified digital database of families in the State. This will facilitate the identification of eligible beneficiaries of government schemes, improve coordination between departments and facilitate effective implementation. Upon registration on the portal, each family will be provided with a unique Devbhoomi Family ID. He said that Viksit Uttarakhand Vision-2047 sets long-term goals for various sectors through approximately 440 indicators. By the year 2047, the target has been set to increase the State’s economy to approximately Rs 28 lakh crore and PCI to approximately Rs 20 lakh. “A target to increase the installed energy capacity of the State to about 22,000 MW and increase the forest cover to 46.6 per cent has been taken for 2047. Different targets have been set in the vision for the years 2030, 2035, 2040, 2047 and 2050, on the basis of which emphasis has been laid on preparing departmental action plans and the system of regular review of progress,’’ he said. Cabinet ministers Ganesh Joshi and Khajan Das and others attended the programme.
