PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is committed to innovation in education, digital learning and is focussing on promoting Indian values for all-round development of students.  The CM was addressing Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Educational Excellence Award distribution ceremony at his residence on Thursday. Remembering Upadhyaya, the CM said that he was not only the proponent of Integral Humanism and Antyodaya but also a great thinker, educationist and social worker. Referring to Uttarakhand’s achievement of becoming a fully literate State, Dhami said that it is a matter of pride for the State and praised the contributions of the teachers, officials, volunteers and citizens involved in this campaign. “Now we must move forward towards connecting every citizen with digital literacy, financial literacy, health awareness and life skills. Collective efforts are necessary to enable every citizen to use new technologies to improve their lives, strengthen their livelihoods, and contribute to the progress of society,’’ he said. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, important measures have been taken to modernize, implement and align the quality of the country’s education system with the National Education Policy-2020. He added that Uttarakhand is among the leading states implementing the NEP-2020. In the programme, the CM felicitated 63 meritorious students who secured the top 10 positions in the 2026 class X and XII examinations of the Uttarakhand board and the principals of six schools that delivered excellent examination results. He congratulated all the meritorious students and principals and attributed the success to the hard work, discipline and determination. Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Savita Kapoor, secretary Jyoti Yadav and others were present on the occasion.
