Dehradun, 17 Sep: Meritorious and topper students of Devprayag Assembly constituency who are on a Bharat Darshan tour under the leadership of local MLA Vinod Kandari today called on Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan at the Secretariat here. During the interaction at the Secretariat, Bardhan engaged with the students on various subjects, shared his experiences and offered guidance for their future.
Congratulating Kandari for initiating such a programme for his constituency’s bright students, Bardhan said that every parent wishes to see their children succeed in life and the students’ achievements are the result of their hard work. He reminded them that there is no shortcut to success and that perseverance is the only path to achieving goals. He emphasised that technology is changing rapidly and students must remain updated and technically competent to face competition that is no longer confined to their village or constituency but extends across the country.
Bardhan advised the students to use mobile phones and technology wisely, pointing out that while they offer many advantages, they also carry risks. He urged them to avoid misuse, to share their problems and mistakes with parents and teachers, and to guard against stress and depression which are increasingly affecting young people. He said that children must not hide important matters from their parents and should always seek guidance from trusted elders.
Expressing concern over the growing menace of substance abuse, Bardhan cautioned the students to stay away from drugs and to choose their friends carefully. He said that peer pressure often leads to wrong habits that can damage the future of the youth. He further urged the students to keep complete focus on their goals and to trust themselves, stressing that hard work and dedication can change destiny. He said that the Bharat Darshan tour would give them exposure to new places, cultures and people, an opportunity that few children of their age receive. He urged them to learn from these experiences and treasure them as memories that will bring joy in later life.
Among those present on the occasion included MLA Vinod Kandari, Secretary Dr BVRC Purushottam, Jyoti Yadav, Rural Engineering Service Advisory Committee vice-chairman Jot Singh Bisht, Additional Secretary Namami Bansal, senior officials from the education department and the meritorious students of Devprayag Assembly constituency.
