Dehradun, 30 Jan: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today approved several critical initiatives on road safety, Song Dam construction, disaster relief, implementation of chief minister announcements, and implementation of new criminal laws. Approving the proposals in this regard, the CM authorised the release of approximately Rs 195 crores to facilitate these schemes.
Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme, Dhami has sanctioned Rs 103.80 crores for ongoing infrastructure works on the Song Dam Drinking Water Project during the current financial year. Additionally, an amount of Rs 73.11 crores has also been approved under the same scheme for road safety maintenance.
For effective implementation of new criminal laws across the state, Dhami has sanctioned vital projects to set up virtual computer labs and forensic workstations in various districts and training centres. This includes Rs 4.83 crores for establishing virtual computer labs in all districts and training institutes, along with Rs 4.30 crores for procuring necessary hardware, software, and solutions for forensic workstations.
From the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Dhami has approved a total of Rs 6,60,96,800 for those whose commercial establishments and buildings were damaged in the natural disaster on 5 August in Dharali village under Bhatwari tehsil of Uttarkashi district. Further, an amount of Rs 6.72 lakhs has been sanctioned as additional relief for 64 affected people whose agricultural land was damaged in Dharali, Mukhwa, and Harshil areas due to the same disaster. Government orders (GOs) for these sanctions have already been issued as per Dhami’s instructions.
Besides this, Dhami has also released Rs 2.21 crores for nine schemes linked to various CM announcements, with relevant government orders issued forthwith. Among these, Rs 43.99 lakhs has been approved for repair work on the Dhaula to Estragad-Changshil tourist route under Rupin Raji in the Purola constituency of Uttarkashi district. Likewise, Rs 54.77 lakhs has been sanctioned for constructing the link road from Dhapa to Kwiri in the Munsyari block of Dharchula constituency in Pithoragarh district.
