Five new ministers were inducted into the Dhami cabinet. Rajpur MLA Khajan Das, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Madan Kaushik, Pradeep Batra, and Ram Singh Kaira took the oath of office as ministers in the Dhami cabinet today. Discussions regarding a cabinet expansion had been ongoing in the state for a long time, and these speculations were finally put to rest today.
Today—Friday, the second day of Navratri—at the Lok Bhawan, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) first administered the oath to Rajpur MLA Khajan Das. Subsequently, Bharat Singh Chaudhary took his oath in Sanskrit. Thereafter, MLAs Madan Kaushik, Pradeep Batra, and Ram Singh Keda also took the oath as ministers.
Currently, there are five vacant ministerial posts in the cabinet, which have now been filled by the newly inducted ministers. The selection of these new faces for induction was based on an assessment of the MLAs’ performance records over the past four years. Several rounds of consultations regarding the cabinet expansion had already taken place with the national leadership. Once the preparatory work for the cabinet expansion was completed between the government and the party organization, the auspicious occasion of Navratri was chosen for the ceremony.
