Banbasa, 4 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a new initiative to bring governance to remote and border areas of Uttarakhand. In this regard, a meeting of the State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, was held today at the NHPC complex in Banbasa, Champawat district, adjacent to the India-Nepal international border. This was the first cabinet meeting held in Champawat district.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that cabinet meetings will no longer be limited to Dehradun, but will also be held in various districts across the state. This will provide an opportunity to present local problems, development potential, and regional priorities directly to the government.
He said that border areas are not just geographical boundaries of the state, but are also vital links to security, culture, and development. The government’s priority is to strengthen infrastructure, employment, tourism, and connectivity, while connecting people living in border areas with the mainstream of development.
The Chief Minister said that the government’s objective is to bring governance closer to the people. When cabinet meetings are held in different regions of the state, it will help in understanding local conditions, public expectations, and development needs, and in making quick decisions on them.
Chief Minister Dhami said that the state government is committed to the balanced development of every region of Uttarakhand. The pace of development will be pursued equally from border villages to the plains.
