Disaster Management Training held by NSS Unit at Uttaranchal University

Dehradun, 20 Feb: The NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University and School of Applied and Life Sciences, Dehradun, organised a one-day Disaster Management Training Programme here, today, to enhance awareness and preparedness among students.
The programme commenced with an introductory address by Prof Ajay Singh, Director of School of Applied and Life Sciences, who briefed the participants about the importance of disaster management training and the role of youth in building a disaster-resilient society and encouraged students to actively participate in such initiatives to serve society effectively during emergencies.
The training session was conducted by Raju Shahi, Master Trainer, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dehradun, who provided detailed information on disaster preparedness, emergency response strategies, first aid techniques, and safety measures during natural and man-made disasters. She also guided students on how to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situation.
The session was interactive and highly informative, enhancing awareness among the students. A large number of students, faculties, NSS volunteers and non-teaching staff actively participated in the program. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof VK Shrivastava, NSS Program Officer, Uttaranchal University, who appreciated the efforts of the resource person for successfully conducting the training. He also thanked the NSS unit and participants for their active involvement, which made the event a success.
