
The final roll has 71, 58,949 electors, names of more than 8 lakh voters removed during SIR activity PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun The process of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls ended in Uttarakhand with the publication of the final electoral roll of the State by the Election Commission of India on Saturday. The chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand, BVRC Purushottam informed the media that as per the final electoral roll the State has 71,58,949 (Male: 37,37,701, Female 34,21,036, Third Gender 712) electors. Pertinently, the State had 79,60,762 voters on June 8, 2026, when the SIR of the electoral roll began in the State. It means the names of 8,01,813 voters were deleted from the voter list after the end of the SIR. After the compilation and distribution of the counting forms, the draft electoral roll was published on July 14, 2026, in which 7,133,785 voters were included in the electoral roll. Purushottam said that the voters were given time from 14 July to 13 August to register their claims and objections. In the same sequence, the claims and objections were disposed of in the State from August 13, to September 28. After the disposal of claims and objections, the final voter list was published on Saturday, October 03. The State has a total of 12,543 polling stations. As per the electoral roll after SIR, the State has 72,656 voters in the 18-19 age group and 1,22,892 voters over the age of 80. The CEO informed that the voter list can be viewed online by visiting the ECI’s website www.voter.eci.gov.in and the CEO’s website www.ceo.uk.gov.in. The list can also be obtained from the DEO/ERO office and from BLOs. He said names of the individuals whose names were not included in the voter list can apply online through the ECI Net app by filling out Form VI and offline through their BLO. The CEO said that as per the instruction of the ECI, a month long special campaign will be organised soon during which the BLOs will visit every household to identify voters whose names were included in the pre-SIR list but are not in the current list and prepare a list of such voters. He added that the BLOs will also help in filing form VI ( vote addition) from the eligible individuals. The CEO added in the last phase of this process, the ERO will also share the booth-wise list with the representatives of political parties so that they get another opportunity to include the names of the left out voters in the list. 1,86,008 ASDD voters removed from voter list in Dehradun DEHRADUN: Dehradun district recorded maximum deletion of the names of the voters during the process of SIR in Uttarakhand. As per the data of the ECI, there were 13,76,813 electors in Dehradun district on June 8, 2026 and they reduced to 11,90,805 after end of the SIR which means that 1,86,008 voters under the absent, dead, duplicate and shifted (ASDD) were removed from the electoral roll. Similarly, 1,77,673 and 1,30,203 voters of ASDD category were removed from the electoral rolls in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar district respectively. The data shows that there were 18,405 ASDD voters in Uttarkashi, 23,436 in Chamoli, 10,809 in Rudraprayag, 43,625 in Tehri Garhwal, 51,359 in Pauri Garhwal, 27,436 in Pithoragarh, 13,010 in Bageshwar, 55,475 in Almora, 17,718 in Champawat and 71,810 voters which were removed from the voter list.
