Dhami chairs high-level meeting after virtual meeting with Home minister PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to step up security for the Char Dham, important institutions in the State, dams and power projects considering the situation with Pakistan. Dhami told the administration and police to remain in a high-alert mode. He also directed officials to reject leave applications of government employees barring unavoidable situations. The CM said this while chairing a high-level meeting after virtually attending a meeting chaired by the Home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday. Dhami told officials to strengthen security in all the border districts with international borders. Stating that lakhs of people are undertaking the Char Dham Yatra currently underway in Uttarakhand, he directed officials to further strengthen security arrangements in the Char Dham. Necessary steps should also be taken to enhance the security of various institutions of national importance situated in the State, he said. Dhami said that the availability of foodgrains and essential commodities should be ensured in the districts and Tehsils in case of any emergency situation. The hospitals should also be kept in an alert mode for any potential emergency situation. Dhami said that the citizens should also be made alert with correct information. Focus should be laid on ensuring that the general public gets correct and reliable information so that they are not influenced by rumours. Strict action should be taken against those spreading rumours, the CM said, while also directing officials to consistently monitor social media. Dhami further said that considering the current situation, leave applications of government employees should be rejected barring unavoidable instances. He directed all the district magistrates and district police chiefs to review the security arrangements in their respective districts. Chief secretary Anand Bardhan, director general of police Deepam Seth, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu and other officials were also present in the meeting.
