
Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri, passed away today. A three-day period of state mourning has been declared in Uttarakhand following the demise of the former CM. An official order regarding this has also been issued. The issued order states that, due to the passing of former Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri, a three-day period of state mourning is hereby declared in Uttarakhand. Additionally, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast.
No official entertainment programs or events will be organized during the three-day period of state mourning. The final rites of former Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri will be performed with full police honors on May 20. All state government offices will remain closed on the day of the funeral.

Schools to Remain Closed on May 20
Under the purview of school education in the state, all government, government-aided, and private educational institutions will remain closed on May 20. Orders issued by the Directors of Secondary and Elementary Education in Uttarakhand to all Chief Education Officers state that, in honor of the former Chief Minister, all state government offices will remain closed on May 20—the day of his funeral. Consequently, compliance with the directives issued by the administration must be ensured across all government, government-aided, and private educational institutions and offices falling under the school education sector in the state. All educational institutions and offices in Uttarakhand will remain closed on May 20.
