PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that his government will not step back even one per cent in taking decisions for students’ welfare and interests. He said that as long as he is alive, he is committed to ensuring justice for every student in Uttarakhand. He stated that anyone involved in cheating during upcoming examinations will face strict action and added that no injustice will be allowed with students under his watch. He stated this during a media interaction at the BJP headquarters in Dehradun on Sunday. Dhami said that Uttarakhand has enforced the country’s strictest anti-cheating law and over 100 people have been jailed under it. He said that more than 25,000 youths have secured government jobs in the past four years through transparent recruitment processes. The State has released a calendar for 10,000 more appointments within the next year, which will also be conducted fairly. During the interaction, Dhami also spoke about the Swadeshi campaign. He said that Swadeshi is not a slogan but the foundation of a self-reliant India, rooted in the country’s cultural traditions. He said that the initiative supports farmers, artisans, small traders and entrepreneurs and strengthens the economy. He recalled the role of the Swadeshi movement in the freedom struggle and highlighted leaders like Lokmanya Tilak, Maharshi Aurobindo, and Mahatma Gandhi. Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for an Atmanirbhar Bharat by 2047 will gain momentum through this campaign. He said that recent GST rate cuts announced by Modi have benefitted traders and consumers and he personally interacted with them to assess the impact. He added that the Swadeshi campaign today extends from traditional products to advanced technologies such as missiles, aircraft, semiconductors and digital platforms. He said that Uttarakhand has also launched the House of Himalayas umbrella brand and is promoting local products like honey, mandua, jhangora, spices and medicinal plants among others. The government is also encouraging self-employment, small industries, startups and digital platforms to promote local entrepreneurship. He urged people to give priority to Swadeshi goods during festivals and weddings. He said that collective efforts to adopt Swadeshi will advance the goal of a developed and self-reliant India, and called on citizens to embrace PM Modi’s Make in India, Make for the World vision.
