Dehradun, 18 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today flagged off four advanced ambulances from his camp office here. These vehicles have been provided by HDFC Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for public welfare. The move marks a significant step towards strengthening healthcare services in the remote and hill regions of Uttarakhand.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhami claimed that the state government is consistently working to ensure better healthcare facilities reach the last person standing in society. He described the support extended by the private institutions in public interest as an excellent example of social responsibility. Stressing on the importance of timely availability of medical services in hills and far-flung areas of the state, he noted that the ambulances made available through HDFC Bank’s CSR efforts will play a crucial role in delivering immediate medical assistance to those in need. The government, he added, remains committed to enhancing healthcare services through public participation and institutional cooperation.
The CM praised HDFC Bank’s welfare initiative and observed that such services will prove extremely useful during large religious gatherings, disaster situations and in inaccessible regions. He also expressed the hope that the bank would provide more ambulances under CSR for other hill districts and for the forthcoming Haridwar Kumbh.
On the occasion, the bank officials shared that the ambulances being provided are equipped with modern medical facilities and the essential emergency equipment to ensure timely treatment for patients. They further assured that for the next three years, each ambulance will have a doctor, nurse, attendant and driver arranged by the bank. In the initial phase, these ambulances will serve Chamoli, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag districts, and later they will also be deployed during major religious events and disaster management operations in the state.
On the occasion, MLAs Rajkumar Pori and Vinod Kandari, Additional Secretary Manmohan Mainali, along with HDFC Bank representatives Muskan Singh (Branch Banking Head – North 3), Sanjeev Kaushik (Regional Head – North 3), Bakul Sikka (Zonal Head Uttarakhand), Gaurav Jain (State Head Uttarakhand) and Ayush Singhal were among those present.
