my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the State government is consistently working to preserve and uplift Sanskrit language. He said this after felicitating 24 class X and XII students of Sanskrit at a programme organised by the Sanskrit Education department on Sunday. As part of the Sanskrit Chhatra Pratibha Samman 2024-25, the first, second and third rankers were presented with Rs 5,100, Rs 4,100 and Rs 3,100 each respectively. Further, 148 students were felicitated under the Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar SC-ST Sanskrit scholarship scheme along with 89 girl students under the Gargi Sanskrit girl scholarship scheme 2024-25. Addressing the gathering, Dhami said that as part of the girls studying in Sanskrit schools, the Gargi scholarship was started for girls through the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy, under which an annual scholarship of Rs 3,012 is provided to girl students of all sections in Sanskrit Vidyalayas.  Further, a scheme is also being implemented to encourage Sanskrit students who are presented with cash rewards for scoring maximum marks in Sanskrit in the high school and intermediate exams. The CM said that the State government is also working on developing 13 Sanskrit villages in the 13 districts. Stating that the nation is going through a phase of reviving its ancient heritage and culture under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that Uttarakhand is also moving through a phase of innovation in all spheres.
