He was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the 51st Nirvana Day of Satguru Lal Das Maharaj at Shri Brahma Niwas Ashram in Haridwar on Saturday.  The CM said that special attention is being paid to the development of religious sites in Uttarakhand. The Ram temple Ayodhya has been constructed and work on the Kashi Corridor and the Mahakal Corridor in Ujjain is underway. Under the Mandir Mala Mission, many temples in the State are being renovated and beautified.  Dhami said that work is underway on ropeway projects for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib. Projects such as the Ganga Corridor, Rishikesh Corridor, Aastha Path in Haridwar and the development of the Sharda and Yamuna banks are also being pursued. Emphasising on the need to preserve the original form, sanctity and cultural identity of Uttarakhand, Dhami said that strict action is being taken against illegal construction and activities that impact the culture and social environment of the State. He added that the State government is striving to provide a clean, safe and spiritual environment for devotees. He said that a Centre of Hindu Studies has been established in Doon University which studies, research and investigation in the field of knowledge and science along with religion and culture are being promoted.  The CM said that in sync with the wish of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State government has set a target to make the State self-reliant and one of the leading states of the country in the field of religion, development, innovation and knowledge. He said that Satguru Lal Das Maharaj prioritised spirituality in his life and inspired people to follow the path of service, truth and devotion. “Our saint community has always contributed greatly to the protection of religion, culture, and the nation. Their guidance inspires society to move forward on the path of religion and culture,’’ the CM said. In his address Satguru Chetanananda Ji Bhuri Wale praised CM Dhami for implementing such rules and laws in the State, which the entire country is following.
