PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Congress party has become issueless due to which it is politicising the Haldwani ‘purification’ incident. Interacting with the media persons in Haldwani on Saturday, the CM said that some people belonging to a religion had raised objectionable slogans during the Haldwani public meeting of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and the ground was littered with waste after which people belonging to a religious organisation had purified the ground. The CM said that this organisation has no relation with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He added that the people of Uttarakhand do not believe in caste based or any other kind of discrimination and no one actually knew the caste of Kharge. Accusing the Congress party of indulging in politics on the issue, the CM said that everyone knows how Sitaram Kesri was insulted by the Congress when he was president of the party. He added that Babu Jagjivan Ram was also maltreated and the Congress party always blocked the entry of Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the parliament and never bestowed Bharat Ratna on him. The CM said that the Congress has always played politics of appeasement and in this issue also it is playing the same old dirty politics. Dhami’s response came following the press conference of leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Saturday. In the conference, Gandhi raised the issue of the purification of Haldwani ground after the public meeting of Congress president Mallilarjun Kharge. Terming the purification of the ground as an insult to Kharge and constitution, Gandhi said that the BJP is anti-Dalit. He also threatened to register a case against the BJP under the SC ST Act for insulting Kharge.
