Khel Mahakumbh-2026 will be held from September 1 to October 30 – my uttarakhand news

The Department of Youth Welfare and Prantiya Rakshak Dal has finalized the framework for the “Khel Mahakumbh-2026 Chief Minister’s Championship Trophy,” scheduled for the 2026-27 financial year. The event will feature various sports competitions held at the Nyaya Panchayat, Assembly constituency, Parliamentary constituency, and state levels. Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the objective of organizing the Khel Mahakumbh is to encourage sports talents among the youth of the state, provide better platforms to talents from rural and remote areas, and offer players opportunities to participate in state and national-level competitions. Local public representative sports competitions at the Nyaya Panchayat level will be held from September 1 to 10, 2026; MLA Championship Trophy competitions at the Assembly level from September 11 to 20, 2026; MP Championship Trophy competitions at the Parliamentary Constituency level from September 21 to 30, 2026; and Chief Minister Championship Trophy competitions at the State level from September 10 to October 30, 2026. At the Nyaya Panchayat level, competitions such as Kabaddi, Athletics, Kho-Kho, and Murga Jhapta will be organized in the Under-14 and 19 boys-girls categories. At the Assembly level, Volleyball and Pittu directly, as well as competitions based on selections from the Nyaya Panchayat level, will be held. At the Parliamentary Constituency level, Mallakhamb, Tug-of-War, Goli (Kancha), Football, and Badminton directly, along with various sports competitions based on selections from the Assembly level, will be organized. At the State level, Judo, Boxing, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Karate, Basketball, Hockey, Handball, Yoga Asanas, Swimming, Archery, Fencing, Wrestling, Pencak Silat, Powerlifting, Weightlifting, Baseball, and Lawn Tennis directly, along with numerous sports competitions based on selections from the Assembly level, will be organized. Various sports competitions have also been prescribed for the Women’s Open category and the Divyangjan Women’s and Men’s Open category.
