Dehradun, 6 Mar: State Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj has congratulated Balen Shah, the highly popular youth leader and former Mayor of Kathmandu, on his landslide victory in Nepal’s national elections along with his Rashtriya Swatantra Party.
Congratulating him on the victory, Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the success of Balen Shah and the Rastriya Swatantra Party in Nepal would further strengthen relations between India and Nepal.
He said the party’s “Nepal First” policy is expected to open a path for balanced development with India and help enhance traditional economic cooperation between the two nations.
Maharaj expressed hope that Balen Shah and the Rastriya Swatantra Party would give a new shape to the 1950 India–Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship and further strengthen the historic “roti-beti” relationship between India and Nepal. He added that working together with India would bring economic and strategic benefits to both countries.
