Dehradun, 6 Mar: Mamta Rawat, Managing Director of Jyoma Solutions, has been nominated as the Chairperson of the Uttarakhand Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM). Her appointment marks a significant milestone for the state’s growing defence manufacturing ecosystem and highlights the increasing role of women leaders in India’s strategic technology sector.
Under her leadership, Jyoma Solutions has emerged as an innovative defence technology start-up from Uttarakhand. The company has developed indigenous solutions including gyro stabilisation technology, military-grade PCBs, and critical subsystems for defence platforms such as the T-90 tank and Bofors engine control units.
Jyoma Solutions has also been recognised with several accolades, including the Uttarakhand state Startup Grand Challenge Award and the WomenPreneur Award 2025.
As Chairperson of SIDM, Uttarakhand, Mamta Rawat aims to strengthen collaboration between industry, start-ups, academia, and government institutions. Her focus will be on promoting indigenous defence technologies, supporting MSMEs, and leveraging the opportunities created by the Defence Industrial Corridor and the Government of India’s “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Mamta Rawat emphasied the importance of innovation-driven manufacturing and local talent development to position Uttarakhand as a key hub in India’s defence manufacturing landscape.
Her appointment is expected to further accelerate the growth of defence start-ups and advanced manufacturing initiatives across the state.
