Dehradun, 4 Feb: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi today participated as the Chief Guest in a multi-purpose camp organised at Bhagwantpur in Sahaspur Block. On this occasion, he inspected the stalls set up by various departments and interacted with the beneficiaries present at the camp, listening to their problems.
During the camp, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi distributed cheques to beneficiaries of the Agriculture Department, provided equipment to farmer groups under the Farm Machinery Bank scheme, and distributed Mahalakshmi Kits and Kishori Kits to beneficiaries of the Women and Child Development Department. On this occasion, he also administered a pledge for drug de-addiction to the people present at the programme.
Under the ‘Jan–Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan–Jan Ke Dwar’ programme, Cabinet Minister Joshi listened to the problems of the general public. A total of 40 complaints and issues were registered at the camp, most of which were resolved on the spot. For the remaining development-related and scheme-related complaints, officials were directed to prepare time-bound proposals and ensure their resolution.
Addressing the programme, Minister Joshi expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that in view of the success of the programme, the Chief Minister has extended the duration of the camps by another 15 days, reflecting the sensitivity of the government. He stated that more than 6 lakh people across the state have benefited from these special camps so far, describing it as a unique and welfare-oriented initiative of the government.
The Cabinet Minister said the double-engine government is continuously working to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society. He stated that women are moving towards self-reliance through self-help groups. In the Union Budget 2026, a provision has been made to connect ‘Lakhpati Didis’ with ‘She Mart’, which will further strengthen livelihood promotion for women. He added that special attention has been given in the Union Budget to every section of society, including women, farmers and soldiers, for which he expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister.
In his address, he said that the new scheme instead of MGNREGA is a strong initiative of the Government of India aimed at the holistic development of rural India. He stated that, for the implementation of this scheme, a budgetary provision of Rs 95,652.31 crore has been made by the Government of India in the current financial year. Under the scheme, the number of employment days has been increased from 100 to 125, along with special provisions to ensure timely payment of wages.
On this occasion, SDM Mussoorie Rahul Anand, District Programme Officer Jitendra Kumar, District Development Officer Sunil Kumar, Divisional In-charge Jyoti Kotiya, Lakshman Singh Rawat, Kiran, Gram Pradhan Renu Sharma, Bharti Jawadi, Sunil Chhetri, Ajay Pundir, and officers from various concerned departments were also present.
