Union minister thanks the soldiers for success of Operation Sindoor PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Haldwani Union minister of Health and Family Welfare and the Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda visited Pithoragarh district on Sunday where he interacted with jawans posted in the area bordering China and also sought information about works under the Vibrant Village programme in the area. Nadda arrived at the Gunji helipad where he was welcomed with a traditional white pagadi worn in the region. He then reached the army guest house where he interacted with personnel of the Indian Army, Sashastra Seema Bal and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, seeking information about the weapons and equipment available in the border region. He commended their courage and dedication in guarding the nation’s border in difficult conditions. Nadda said that the entire nation honours the sacrifices and takes pride in the dedication of the jawans. He told the soldiers, “You guard the nation and due to your dedication and courage, the people of the nation feel secure. Personally and on behalf of the entire nation, I thank you for the success of Operation Sindoor.” He also assured the soldiers of all possible assistance and support from the government. The Union minister spent some time with the jawans and also shared sweets with them during the interaction. Later, Pithoragarh district magistrate Vinod Goswami informed Nadda about various works underway and proposed under the Vibrant Village programme in the district. He informed about Vibrant Villages in all blocks of the district, the schemes being undertaken by the Tourism department to boost tourist activity and facilities for the pilgrimage to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. The district magistrate also informed the Union minister about works proposed under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 project, road projects proposed under PMGSY in Dharchula and Munsyari and plans to facilitate income generation through local products. Goswami informed that local farmers involved in animal husbandry are providing fresh poultry, goat and sheep meat to ITBP personnel posted in the district under an agreement signed earlier. Cooperative committees and FPOs are involved in supplying such food items to the ITBP in the district, the district magistrate informed. The Union minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Ajay Tamta, Dairy and Animal Husbandry minister Saurabh Bahuguna, superintendent of police Rekha Yadav, officers of the Indian Army, ITBP and SSB along with various district officials and departmental officials were also present on the occasion.
