PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun In a development which could pave the way for establishment of a government super speciality hospital and a para medical college in Uttarakhand, the Union health minister JP Nadda has directed for departmental examination of the proposals made by the Uttarakhand government in this regard. If approved, these medical facilities will come up under the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Medical Education University. Nadda has written a letter to Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in which has informed that the proposals related to the establishment of a super specialty hospital and a paramedical college under the HNB Medical Education University have been sent for examination at the departmental level. If approved the establishment of a super-specialty hospital will provide a much needed boost to the health facilities in the State. It will strengthen the State’s medical facilities for the treatment of serious and complex diseases and ailments. Further the establishment of a paramedical college will help develop trained paramedical human resources and lay an important foundation for providing the necessary technical and support staff to the state’s health services. Pertinently, the proposals to the Union government were sent by the State government on the initiative of CM Dhami. Expressing happiness at the development, Dhami said that it is an important step towards strengthening the health and medical education system of Uttarakhand.
