The CM said that the strength, courage and dedication of women are the basis for the progress of our society and country. He said that the new law is not just an effort to increase numbers, but a revolutionary step towards ensuring women’s participation in the policy-making process. “ With his visionary thinking, PM Modi has paved the way for women’s power to reach the highest platforms of democracy. Our scriptures state that even Shiva is capable only when he is endowed with Shakti. Without Shakti, no creation or power is possible,’’ he said. He said that today’s woman is not only a farmer who grows food in the fields, but also an entrepreneur who sets up a startup. She is also a public representative who makes development plans in the village Panchayat and is also a strong leader who has the ability to formulate policies in the country’s parliament. The CM averred that after taking oath in 2014, PM Modi launched public welfare schemes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Matritva Vandana Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission and Lakhpati Didi Yojana. He added that the State government is also working dedicatedly for the welfare of women. Dhami said that the State has launched an umbrella brand House of Himalayas with the aim of giving global recognition to local products manufactured by women self-help groups. Due to the efforts of the State government, there are now more than 2.65 lakh Lakhpati Didis in the State. The Union minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act is not just a law but a transformative initiative that will shape India’s future. Reservation for women in parliament and state legislatures will increase women’s political participation and empower them to participate in decision-making. Now, women will play an effective role in every major sector, she said. Thakur added that new law will enhance women’s respect, rights, and confidence.
