Dehradun, 6 Feb: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ninth edition of the Prime Minister’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme held at St Agnes School on Nashville Road here today. On this occasion, he interacted with students and encouraged them to approach examinations with confidence and a positive mindset. Addressing the gathering, the CM observed said that the entire nation has connected with this edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, asserting that the initiative is no longer limited to a simple dialogue but has now evolved into a national movement. He said the PM’s message clearly conveys that while examinations are an important link in the chain of life, they do not define the whole of one’s life.
Recalling his own school days, Dhami said that the school life is a priceless phase that never comes back, and that the students should make the most of it. He advised the students to actively participate in sports and other extra-curricular activities along with academic studies. Describing examinations as an opportunity, the CM said that during exams a student must perform like a warrior, giving their best with full self-confidence, patience and composure. He emphasised that passing an examination alone is not the ultimate measure of a student’s abilities, as life offers many other goals and opportunities beyond academic success. He urged students to move ahead with clear objectives and priorities, achieve success through positive thinking and remain free from unnecessary exam-related stress. He also appealed to the parents not to impose undue pressure on their children or compare them with others.
It is worth noting that, under ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026’, more than four crore students, the teachers and the parents from across the country have registered. This participation is expected to surpass the previous Guinness World Record. From Uttarakhand alone, around seven lakh students, more than 53,000 teachers and about 14,000 parents have joined the initiative this year, marking a significant increase compared to last year, when participation stood at 2.98 lakh students.
Among the ten motivational videos prepared by students from Uttarakhand, one video has been selected at the national level. The selected video has been created by Rohan Singh Rana, a student of Government High Secondary School, Pala Kurali, Jakholi Block in Rudraprayag district. Rana has been invited to participate in the Prime Minister’s programme in Delhi, a development described as a matter of pride for the entire state. On this occasion, Director General Education Deepti Singh, Director Secondary Education Mukul Kumar Sati, faculty members and a large number of school students were present on the occasion.
