Debris Enters College and Shops in Chamoli Torrential rain lasting about an hour late Thursday night wreaked havoc in the Tharalibagar area of Narayanbagar, Chamoli. Excessive rainfall in the forests caused a massive surge of debris and boulders to rush down into inhabited areas, affecting the local market, government buildings, and the national highway. The debris flow split into two paths; one section damaged the old Alaknanda Forest Division building and classrooms of the Government Inter College before reaching the school’s office and campus, while the other section flowed past the Primary Health Centre and reached the National Highway.
