PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun  Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is committed to the cultural preservation and historical documentation of tribal communities of Uttarakhand. He said that providing good education, health, housing facilities and employment to the tribal population is the priority of the government. The CM was addressing a programme after virtually unveiling the statue of Raja Jagatdev of the Buksa tribal community in Roshanpur Dalbaba under the Gadarpur area of Udham Singh Nagar district on Friday. He said that Raja Jagat Dev’s life is an example of sacrifice, bravery, devotion to religion and cultural preservation. He said that this occasion is not merely a day to unveil a statue, but to pay homage to the glorious tradition, culture, and sacrifice of the Buksa tribe. He said that Raja Jagat Dev dedicated his life to protecting religion and culture even in difficult circumstances. His was not just a saga of bravery, but a symbol of the indomitable power of self-respect and faith, the CM said.  The CM said that the Buksa community, settled in several areas including Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital and Kotdwar, are keeping their culture, traditions and self-respect alive.  Dhami opined that research should also be conducted on Raja Jagat Dev so that future generations can draw inspiration from him.  On the occasion, the CM also made three announcements related to the development of the area. He announced that a three km road from Balramnagar village to Khempur and four km road from Sitapur village to ANK inter college will be reconstructed.  Block Pramukh Jyoti Grover, Nagar Panchayat president Satish Chugh, district magistrate Udham Singh Nagar Nitin Bhadoria, senior superintendent of Police Manikant Mishra and others were present on the occasion.
