Dehradun/New Delhi, 31 Aug: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools at Chakrata, Mehravana and Kalsi in Dehradun district got an opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The three‑day special educational tour, held from 28 to 30 August 2026, included five students from each school.
During their visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the students also had the opportunity of meeting President Droupadi Murmu. The students later asserted that the interaction proved to be a memorable and inspiring experience for them and that the meeting instilled in them confidence, renewed energy and a stronger sense of dedication towards the nation. According to the official, accompanying the students, the President’s words and presence left a lasting impression that the students will cherish throughout their lives.
The educational tour also enabled the participants to explore various historical, academic and knowledge‑enhancing sites in New Delhi. Through this exposure beyond classrooms and textbooks, they gained direct insights into the country’s history, culture, democratic system and national heritage.
The District Tribal Welfare Officer, Dehradun, observed that such educational tours play a vital role in the holistic development of students, shaping their personality and broadening their national consciousness. He added that the visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and the meeting with the President was not only a matter of pride for the students but also a significant source of inspiration for their bright future.
