Change in weather is forecast in Uttarakhand due to Western Disturbance. Orange Alert Issued for Storms, Hailstorms, and Lightning in Hill Districts; Snowfall Expected in High-Altitude Areas.
The weather in Uttarakhand has been fluctuating frequently over the past several days. Once again, the weather in Uttarakhand has taken a turn. Due to the activity of a strong Western Disturbance, weather conditions are changing rapidly across several parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a specific warning for the mountainous regions. The plains districts of the state may also experience isolated instances of light rain and drizzle accompanied by thunder and lightning. However, a rise in temperature had been observed over the last few days due to a lack of rainfall. Amidst snowfall in Kedarnath and adverse weather conditions in Chamoli, Srinagar also remained overcast.
Weather Forecast for 30 March
According to the Meteorological Centre, there is a possibility today of rain, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in certain areas of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts. An ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for these regions. Snowfall is anticipated in areas situated at an altitude of 3,300 meters or higher. Consequently, a decline in temperatures is being recorded in the mountainous regions, intensifying the sensation of cold. The plains districts—including Dehradun—may also witness isolated spells of light rain and drizzle accompanied by thunder and lightning. According to the Meteorological Department, this weather pattern is likely to persist across the state until April 1st. People have been advised to remain vigilant and to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in the hilly regions.
