PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Bharadisain The monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha will commence at the Assembly building in the summer capital Gairsain in Chamoli district on Tuesday. The session is likely to be stormy with the opposition Congress planning to corner the government on the issues of irregularities in the recently concluded three-tier Panchayat elections, law and order situation and laxity in relief operations during the recent natural disasters in the State. On Monday, the Assembly speaker Ritu Khanduri inspected arrangements in the Vidhan Sabha building. The State government is slated to table a number of bills during the session. The government will also table a supplementary budget of about Rs 5,000 crore during the session in Vidhan Sabha. The agenda of the house was decided in the meeting of the business advisory committee on Monday evening. The meeting was chaired by the speaker Ritu Khanduri and was attended by the Parliamentary Affairs minister Subodh Uniyal, the leader of opposition Yashpal Arya, Chakrata MLA Pritam Singh and others. The Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress held their legislature party meetings to finalise their strategy for the monsoon session.
