Vijay Bansal’s “My Little Poetry Book” goes live

Dehradun, 22 Sep: ‘My Little Poetry Book’, written and inspired by Vijay Bansal’, a published author of his maiden book – ‘Garden of My Life’ – a retired Civil Servant of HP Cadre IAS; and a passionate poet of simple verses has been published. It was launched and rendered live on 19 September at a Spotlight Book Session held at the well-known Doon Library & Research Centre (DLRC) Dehradun.
N Ravi Shankar, former Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand, and presently Honorary Director of the DLRC was the Chief Guest at the Spotlight Session.
In this little poetry book, Vijay Bansal attempts to take his readers on a story telling session of his life’s journey through poetry – starting from his ‘janambhumi’, i.e., Lahore of pre-partition India in 1947 during the days of the British Raj through his poem- “Born In Lahore” ; to the ‘Rannbhumi’ of the blackout days of the Indo-Pak Conflict of 1965 through his poems “To the Front” & “From the Front”, where he takes you to Kashmir as well as the LOC border between the two countries; to his ‘karmabhumi’ – Shimla and the hills of Himachal Pradesh, during his days of ‘mera yauwan meri jawani’ in his poem: “On Shimla’s Mall”; and back to his good, old ‘hometown’ – Dehradun; presently the capital, education-hub and Chardham pilgrimage centre of  ‘Devbhoomi’ Uttarakhand, where he has spent the last more than 20 years of superannuation and retirement life with dignity, grace and blessings of the Almighty;  in the company of friends, classmates, well-wishers and dedicated domestic help.
Vijay Bansal who also looks after the maintenance and improvement of facilities/books at the heritage Mahatma Khushi Ram Public Library, Dehradun (perhaps  the oldest Library in Uttarakhand) as the President of the Board of Trustees earlier held the “Book Launch” of his Little Poetry Book on 5 September 2026 (i.e. Teacher’s Day) at the  MKRP Library’s Community Hall in which Nrip Napalchayal, another former Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand, presided.
