my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Reacting to the ongoing ‘Pahadi versus Desi’ controversy, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has warned that people engaged in tampering with the unity of Uttarakhand will not be spared. He said that the statehood activists had dreamt of a separate State of Uttarakhand to ensure that the fruits of development reaches to the last person standing on the social ladder. The CM was addressing a programme organised at his residence in which appointment letters were handed over to 126 Panchayat development officers.  The CM requested the people of the State that they should not get swayed by divisive elements and should work for the sentiment of one Uttarakhand. On a stern note, the CM said that no one, whether he is a minister, MLA and MP, will now be allowed to fiddle with the unity of the State. He said that every statement from today onwards will be taken in a very serious manner and strict action on the elements playing with the pride of Uttarakhand. Congratulating the newly appointed officers of Panchayati Raj department, the CM said that in the last three years the State government has given appointments to more than 20,000 youngsters in different departments. He said that the new officers will become an inseparable part of village Panchayats which is the most important unit of democracy and help in ensuring all round development of villages. The CM added that development of the villages is necessary for all round development of the State and the role of village Panchayat development officers is of paramount importance on the progress of the village.  The CM said that the State has enacted the most stringent anti-copying act to bring transparency in the recruitment process. He said that when an honest and hardworking person is appointed to a responsible post he/she understands the plight of the people and works with honesty. He said that a stringent land law has been passed by the State Vidhan Sabha.  Speaking on the occasion the Panchayati Raj minister Satpal Maharaj said that many development schemes are being operated by the double engine government for the development of the State. He said that the department is constructing Panchayat Bhawans in the villages. The minister added that the department is providing the family register, birth and death certificate and no objection certificates for building construction in online mode. He added that the work of computerisation of Panchayats is underway and within two years computers will be installed in all village Panchayats of the State. Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLAs Khajan Dass, Savita Kapur, Brij Bhushan Gairola and the chairperson of one member dedicated commission BS Verma, secretary Chandresh Yadav and director Panchayati Raj Nidhi Yadav were present on the occasion.
