PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Jyotirmath With at least seven persons reported dead officially, chief minister Pushar Singh Dhami reached Pipalkoti in Chamoli district amid rough weather, where workers were trapped due to flooding in a tunnel of a hydro power project. Dhami also met the rescued workers in the hospital and directed the officials to ensure their proper treatment. The CM said that every person’s life is precious, adding that all the available resources of the government are being used for this rescue and relief operation. The prime priority of the State government is to rescue the workers stranded in the tunnel. Dhami said that the chief minister of the States from where some of the labourers came have already been contacted to communicate that the family members should be informed. A magisterial inquiry has also been ordered to ascertain the reasons for the disaster. In Dehradun, the Disaster Management minister Madan Kaushi visited the State Emergency Operations Centre to review the rescue and relief works being undertaken in Pipalkoti. He sought detailed information about the search and rescue operation.
