Ramnagar (Nainital), 2 Apr: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today claimed that the state government is committed to ensuring global recognition to religious tourism in Uttarakhand and is making continuous efforts to further strengthen the Char Dham Yatra.
Earlier, the Chief Minister offered worship at Shri Hanuman Dham located at Chhoi in Ramnagar and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
On the occasion, he welcomed all the public representatives, office-bearers and devotees present and said that every devotee present there is blessed by Bajrangbali, as no one can reach his durbar without his will.
Sharing his personal experience, Dhami informed that he had made several attempts in the past to visit the temple but could not do so due to various reasons. This time, by the grace of Bajrangbali, the programme was finalised. Suddenly, he got the opportunity to have darshan of Barjangbali here. On this occasion, the CM also prayed for the happiness, prosperity and welfare of the people of the state and sought divine blessings for all.
Referring to the historic works undertaken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the CM asserted that after years of wait, the grand Ram Temple has been constructed in Ayodhya. He added that the development of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor has provided unprecedented facilities to devotees. He further reminded that extensive development works are also being carried out at Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham, which have strengthened the identity of Uttarakhand.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand is Devbhoomi and protecting its faith and cultural heritage is the top priority of the state government. With this objective, strict laws are being implemented in the state and continuous efforts are being made to maintain communal harmony. He also stated that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code, setting an example for the entire nation.
Dhami said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a resolve has been taken to make Uttarakhand a leading state in the country. He expressed confidence that with the cooperation and blessings of all, this resolve will certainly be fulfilled.
He further stated that works related to beautification and infrastructure development at major religious circuits, including Kedarkhand and Manaskhand, are progressing continuously. As a result of these efforts, the number of devotees and pilgrims visiting the state is increasing every year.
The CM said that the upcoming Kumbh is not only significant for Uttarakhand but for the entire country, and preparations for the proposed Kumbh Mela in 2027 have already commenced. He added that the winter yatra is also being conducted continuously and will continue till the opening of the portals of the Char Dham. So far, approximately one lakh sixty thousand devotees have visited various religious sites during the winter yatra. He also added that comprehensive preparations for the forthcoming Char Dham Yatra have also been initiated.
Dhami further stated that a large number of tourists and devotees are visiting Uttarakhand even during the winter season, which reflects the growing impact of religious tourism in the state. The government aims to further strengthen religious tourism so that Uttarakhand’s identity is reinforced at the global level. Expressing gratitude to all devotees, the Chief Minister said that the blessings of Bajrangbali should remain with everyone and that Uttarakhand should continue to progress on the path of development.
On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Ram Singh Kaira, Ramnagar MLA Diwan Singh Bisht, Haldwani Mayor Gajraj Bisht, BJP district president Pratap Bisht, Dr Anil Kapoor Dabbhu, Dinesh Arya, Shankar Koranga, Shanti Mehra, Kumaon Commissioner and Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Rawat, IG Kumaon Ridhim Aggarwal, District Magistrate Nainital, Lalit Mohan Rayal, SSP Nainital Dr Manjunath TC, along with other public representatives, officials, Acharya Vijay of Shri Hanuman Dham Trust, trust representatives and a large number of devotees were present.
