Dehradun, 2 Apr: Continuing the surprise visits to various government hospitals, Health Minister Subodh Uniyal today carried out an unannounced inspection of Coronation Hospital here and held a detailed review of the healthcare facilities available at the institution.
During the inspection, the minister closely examined the quality of treatment being provided to the patients, the level of cleanliness, availability of medicines and the overall status of various medical services in the hospital. He undertook a thorough assessment of the functioning of the facility to ensure that standards were being maintained.
Uniyal also interacted with patients undergoing treatment and their attendants, seeking feedback regarding healthcare services, the behaviour of hospital staff and the functioning of the administration. Taking serious note of the suggestions and experiences shared by patients, he directed the officials to ensure necessary improvements in the arrangements.
While interacting with doctors and healthcare personnel, Uniyal emphasised that services to patients must be delivered with sensitivity, promptness and a humane approach. He instructed the hospital administration to ensure that all systems operate in a transparent, smooth and public-oriented manner.
The Health Minister asserted on the occasion that it is the top priority of the state government to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services to every citizen. He said that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen and improve the health sector so that timely and better treatment is available to all. He further noted that special schemes are being implemented to expand healthcare access in remote and hilly areas, ensuring that no citizen of the state remains deprived of essential medical facilities.
